After playing 11 games this season, it appears that Rutgers senior guard Cappie Pondexter is finally returning to her All-American form.

Pondexter, who averaged 21.5 points, five assists and 3.5 rebounds over the past week, was named the Big East Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week as well as the MBWA Player of the Week.

In the No. 7 Scarlet Knights' victory over Boston College last Wednesday, the 5-foot-9-inch Chicago native poured in a game-high 27 points on 11-for-17 shooting, including 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line.

Pondexter also dished out four assists and had three steals in the team's 71-60 victory over then-No. 14 Boston College.

In Rutgers' victory over West Virginia Sunday, Pondexter didn't need to light up the scoreboard to put forth an impressive all-around performance. She came off the bench to record 16 points, six assists and five rebounds to help the Knights coast to a 70-49 win.

She is averaging 11.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game this year.

This marks the third time Pondexter has won the Big East Co-Player of the Week award in her career. She also becomes the third Knight to earn a weekly Big East award this season, with freshmen guards Matee Ajavon and Essence Carson each garnering Rookie of the Week awards.

Pondexter is also the second Knight this season to win the MBWA award, joining junior forward Michelle Campbell, who earned the same award for the week of Jan. 10.

The 15-4 Knights will travel to Hartford, Conn. this Thursday to take on the No. 11 UConn Huskies in a pivotal Big East showdown. The 13-5 Huskies are currently tied for first place in conference play with Rutgers and Boston College (6-1 in league play).
