LeGrand joins broadcast booth
Rutgers football senior Eric LeGrand did not shy away from making known his intentions to regain mobility and capture his dream of being a broadcaster in his time since injuring his spinal cord last October against Army.
And as LeGrand continues to make progress in his rehabilitation, his goal of becoming a broadcaster arrives sooner than expected.
The Avenel, N.J., native will join the Rutgers Football Radio Network as an analyst for the 2011 season and make broadcasts for pre-game, halftime and post-game segments.
"It's pretty cool," said head coach Greg Schiano, who joked he would take away LeGrand's post-game meal if the former defensive tackle criticized his coach. "But like I told him, this doesn't get in the way of all his work and all his rehab. This is something on the guys."
