Police searching for shooter involved in 'targeted violence' near Rutgers
A New Brunswick resident was shot on Sunday in an act that the New Brunswick Police Department described as "a targeted act of violence."
The victim was shot on June 5 by a passenger of a gold Nissan holding four unidentified men, said Detective Lieutenant Brian Emmett in an email sent to the Rutgers community. The incident took place while the victim was standing outside his residence.
The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for a non-lethal wound.
The shooting occurred on June 5 at 12:13 a.m. on Harvey Street between French Street and Somerset Street.
"The New Brunswick Police Department is actively investigating this incident and asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217," according to the email.
