A Rutgers student who scaled the Starbucks attached to the new College Avenue apartments was injured after falling to the ground early Friday morning.

While patrolling the area outside of The Yard's apartments, a community service officer spotted an injured student shortly after 2 a.m. on Sept. 9, said University spokesman E.J. Miranda.

The student was then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The student climbed to the top of the Starbucks and sustained injuries after falling off, according to an email sent to CSO officers and obtained by The Daily Targum.

Officers were advised to watch out for similar behavior in the future.

"This building is constructed in a manner that would easily allow, and may invite, some individuals to climb on top of it," the email reads. "Please keep your eyes open for this type of behavior, and contact RUPD when appropriate."

The $92 million apartment and retail complex, located on the corner of Hamilton Street and College Avenue, opened earlier this semester along with a new academic building on Seminary Place.
