NBPD arrest homeless man for allegedly breaking into bedroom of off-campus residence

On Thursday, the New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) arrested 25-year-old Curtis Smith for allegedly breaking into a Stone Street residence. Once taken into custody, Smith was charged with burglary and harassment, according to a press release. 

The original incident took place on May 3 around 4:45 a.m. when a Rutgers affiliated woman awoke to find the man standing in her bedroom. He reportedly fled the scene immediately. 

The NBPD identified and located Smith around 2 p.m. at the Walgreens on Handy Street and Jersey Avenue.
