The Rutgers University Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault and robbery that occurred on Sunday night on the Newark campus.

The Rutgers University Police Department is currently investigating an aggravated assault and robbery at the Rutgers—Newark campus on Sunday night.

The victim, an employee of University Hospital, was approached by the perpetrator at approximately 7:30 p.m. in Parking Lot 1, located at 185 South Orange Ave. in Newark, New Jersey.

The perpetrator demanded money and stabbed the victim in the abdomen, according to a University spokesperson.

The victim is currently being treated for injuries, and descriptions of the perpetrator are limited at this time.
