In early February, The Daily Targum elects an entirely new editorial board to serve the University community for next year. These students will shape the future of the Targum for years to come while learning valuable and highly-marketable skills such as news reporting, sports writing, copy editing, videography, photography, page design, Web site design and management. These students could be you.
Founded in 1869, the Targum is one of the oldest and most prestigious college newspapers in the United States. Members of the paper’s award winning editorial board are eager to pass along their experiences and skills to the next generation of interested students in a real world working environment. If you are interested in getting involved or serving on the next editorial board, please come to the Targum’s editorial office at 26 Mine St. today through Thursday between 5 and 9 p.m. to discuss available positions. Training for these positions would start immediately.
As the editor-in-chief of the Targum, I could not be prouder of the work the 141st editorial board has done this year. Every desk on the paper has worked tirelessly to provide the most timely and relevant information to the community. In addition, the paper has made great strides improving its multimedia content and the design of dailytargum.com. The Targum’s multimedia content rivals that of many professional papers. Drawing on the strength of University students and their desire to learn these highly marketable skills, I am confident that the quality of the Targum will continue to improve.
