Senior attack Lindsey Watts returns as the Knights’ leading scorer after tallying 24 goals last season and finishing fifth on the team in points. Watts and the Knights open their 2012 campaign today at the RU?Turf Field against Temple, a team they beat in three consecutive matchups.
Sophomore attackman Scott Klimchak (29)?scored three goals
Sunday against Air?Force, two of which gave the Knights a
three-goal cushion. But the Falcons returned the favor, scoring the
final two until Rutgers closed out the contest for its first win of
the season and first under head coach Brian Brecht.
Sophomore second baseman Nick Pavatella notched four RBI out of
the three hole last weekend against No. 13 Miami (Fla.).

finish with a batting average higher than .300 and was fifth in
on-base percentage (.370). One of four seniors for Rutgers, Curran
helped mentor head coach Jay Nelson’s four freshmen in the
Sophomore Vanessa Petrini combined with Jennifer Holzberg to
down Lehigh, 8-4, last Thursday in doubles play.

Sophomore No. 4 singles Stefania Balasa won her match Thursday
at Lehigh in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Balasa also teamed up with
freshman Satreethai Sasinin in No. 3 doubles, defeating a
Mountain?Hawks duo, 8-0, in Bethlehem, Pa.
Providence junior point guard Vincent Council scored 11 points
and dished a game-high 14 assists last night at the Dunkin’ Donuts
Center in a 78-67 Rutgers loss.

first season with a career performance Friday against UPenn.
