Thanksgiving is a respite from the pressures of daily life with our families and friends. The day also, though, brings us all around the dinner table. The Daily Targum's editors share their favorite foods on the holiday.

Isabella Tyszka, editor-in-chief: "On Thanksgiving Day, I look forward to eating 15 bowls of mashed potatoes and green beans, respectively. I'm not a fan of turkey or cranberry sauce, so I usually skip those, but in terms of dessert, you'll always find me by the pumpkin pie!"

Victoria Yeasky, managing editor: "On Thanksgiving Day, I'm all about the sides! Stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans are all solid favorites for me. I'm not a huge fan of turkey or sweet stuff but will definitely be happily indulging in whatever food is in front of me."

Astha Lakhankar, head news editor: "My favorite Thanksgiving foods are macaroni and cheese and roasted potatoes. These also happen to be some of my favorite foods in general."

Kithmy Wickramasinghe, associate news editor: "My favorite Thanksgiving foods are stuffing and mashed potatoes. I'm not a huge fan of turkey, but ham is pretty good, especially if it is accompanied by a smooth honey glaze. I have a huge sweet tooth, so I love the pies and cakes that come after the big meal."

Claire Bruno, associate news editor: "My favorite Thanksgiving dish since I was younger has always been stuffing. Close seconds for me are mashed potatoes and turkey!"

Ricky Suta, opinions editor: "My favorite Thanksgiving dish is definitely the stuffing. Desert, though, is where it's at. I could eat pumpkin pie or apple pie every day."

Dylan McCoy, head sports editor: "My favorite Thanksgiving food is the honey-glazed ham that my family prepares. I know turkey is the popular choice for most, but in my opinion, the ham provides a flavor that its dry counterpart can not match."

Jack Bisaha, associate sports editor: "I am a big fan of stuffing, and I think that if turkey is done the right way, it can be really good as a Thanksgiving food. I wish that my family made mac and cheese on Thanksgiving because I think that it is one of my favorite foods in general."

Vy Nguyen, head copy editor: "As someone who grew up in an immigrant household, the food that I grew accustomed to at Thanksgiving was always a mix of a typical American spread and a Vietnamese-American one. In addition to the usual mashed potatoes and pie, there are always egg rolls and noodles on my plate."

Henry Wang, photography editor: "Unpopular opinion, but using Thanksgiving turkey as leftovers and for broth always hits. It continues to hit even harder after Thanksgiving."

Chris Kim, head video editor: "If I had to pick a favorite Thanksgiving food item, it would be mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce, but I'm going to be completely honest: I'm not the biggest fan of Thanksgiving food."

Jonny Berkowitz, associate video editor: "The best Thanksgiving food is stuffing. Nothing goes harder than good stuffing and it fixes with everything"

Meredith MacLean, inside beat editor: "My favorite Thanksgiving food is definitely the turkey, which, while the star of the show, I feel is a pretty unpopular pick for a favorite. I also love stuffing, green beans and pumpkin pie, too, but perhaps my most controversial take is I skip out on mashed potatoes."

Rachel Chang, social media editor: "I would have to say my favorite Thanksgiving foods are the turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams with marshmallows on top and my mom’s amazing pumpkin mousse tart!"
