Starbucks mobile truck comes to Rutgers

For busy Scarlet Knights, standing on a long line for a cup of coffee may become a thing of the past with a new addition to the Rutgers campus.

A Starbucks mobile truck arrived on campus Monday and will be on the move throughout the fall, offering some of the same beverages and food that the stores sell.

The Rutgers Starbucks truck, which is owned and operated by Rutgers Dining Services, will follow the same route as the Knight Wagon and will make stops at each campus, said University spokesman E.J. Miranda.

The truck will also accept RU Express.

"We anticipate that it will be in operation at the start of the fall semester," Miranda said. "Meanwhile, it will be visible around campus as the vehicle is tested and we train staff."

Rutgers isn't the first college to be graced with this four-wheeled service. The trucks were also implemented in the summer of 2014 at Arizona State University, James Madison University and Coastal Carolina University.

This will be the fourth Starbucks at Rutgers— with locations at Livingston Plaza, George Street and in the Barnes and Nobles on the College Avenue campus.
