Rutgers's defense adjusting to Big Ten offensive schemes

From Sunday’s game against Wisconsin, it’s clear that the Rutgers women’s soccer team’s greatest strength and weakness is its defense. As one of the best defense systems in the nation, there were moments where the No. 13 Scarlet Knights (7-1-1, 1-1-0) absolutely shined, and at other times, they left huge gaps for the Badgers (6-2-1, 2-0-0) to sweep in.




Violence Prevention offices open in Newark, Camden, RBHS

The recently established Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) offices at Rutgers University—Newark, Rutgers University—Camden and Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences (RBHS) will be expanded after a $5 million grant renewal over the next two years. The funds will also go toward expanding the current services available at the Rutgers—New Brunswick office, which has been around for approximately 28 years.







Climate strike pressures Rutgers to take greater action toward environmental issues

Hundreds of protestors involved in the Central Jersey Climate Coalition (CJCC) marched from Voorhees Hall on the College Avenue campus to Rep. Frank Pallone’s (D-N.J.) office on Church Street to, in part, pressure Rutgers to develop an office of sustainability by 2020, divest from fossil fuels by 2024 and implement a plan to become carbon-neutral by 2030.  



High schoolers from Highland Park march with Rutgers coalition for Green New Deal

Eddane Blanc, a 17-year-old at Highland Park High School, is not old enough to hold office, serve on a jury or even vote — but that did not stop her and dozens of Highland Park High School students on Friday from protesting in front of Rep. Frank Pallone’s (D-N.J.) office for immediate action on the climate crisis and for the support of the Green New Deal.
