CDC awards Rutgers with $550,000 to track autism prevalence in NJ

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced early January that it will invest more than $20 million over the next four years to track autism prevalence. Of the $20 million, Rutgers has been awarded $550,000 continue research on autism, spectrum disorders and child developmental disorders in New Jersey.

Rutgers Spirit Program wins ESPN “Cheer on Your Disney Side” competition

When the Rutgers Spirit Program decided to submit a video for “Cheer on Your Disney Side,” a contest co-sponsored by ESPN and Disney, Emily Heinemann submitted the group’s clip two minutes before the deadline, at 11:58 p.m. To everyone’s surprise, Rutgers ended up winning the grand prize, a $100,000 grant and all-expenses trip to Disney.

New Brunswick Bike Exchange medium to bring affordable fitness to students, community

Although Rutgers alumna Aimee Jefferson has had her driver’s license for more than a decade, she has never owned a car. Instead, she relies on bicycling as her preferred mode of transportation. When she heard about the New Brunswick Bike Exchange program, the avid cycling enthusiast immediately jumped on board.
