NJ FEMA aid adequate, supplementary

It’s been seven months since Hurricane Sandy tore apart New Jersey, leaving countless homes, towns and beaches destroyed and still in need of major repair. The entire country turned its attention to the natural disaster hitting the east coast. Gov. Chris Christie immediately focused on alleviating the devastation. And now, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has disclosed the amount of aid it will be providing to New Jerseyians. While we are content to hear that the aid has been coming, we can’t help but think of people we know that still remain affected and displaced by the hurricane.

No place for thoughtlessness in tragedy

Our nation was hit with a heartbreaking tragedy this week. A terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon shook the country, as two explosions claimed the lives of, so far, three people — including an eight-year-old child — and injured countless more. Some news outlets have rushed to claim it as the worst attack we have seen since September 11, but that probably has to do with how you define terrorism.
