Rutgers falls on road to Michigan

The Rutgers men’s soccer team has begun a new losing streak for the third time this season, losing a tough match over the weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Scarlet Knights (2-9-1, 0-6-0) traveled up north on Friday night, where they faced fellow Big Ten team Michigan (7-3-2, 4-1-1). Rutgers could not overcome a 2-1 halftime deficit, ultimately falling 3-1.

Rutgers remains winless in Big Ten play with loss to Northwestern

The Rutgers men’s soccer team played one of its most important matches of the season this past weekend but was unable to capture the near must-win match. The Scarlet Knights (3-10-1, 0-7-0) traveled up to Evanston, Illinois for a matchup with fellow Big Ten squad Northwestern (5-9-0, 1-5-0) on Sunday afternoon. Although it needed a Big Ten win to not be last seed in the Big Ten Tournament, Rutgers couldn’t get anything going all match, falling by a score of 3-0 and placing itself in danger.

Morgan State is stage for Bolin to rectify Saturday's struggles

After finishing on a 24-34 line with 178 passing yards in his first game for the Rutgers football team — with two touchdowns to boot — graduate transfer quarterback and freshly minted captain Kyle Bolin looked reasonably sharp after taking the starting job from Giovanni Rescigno out of summer camp. That was week one against a Washington defense that piled on the pressure, especially later on, drawing two interceptions, one of which led to a score. One would assume — and many did — that Bolin would have his way against Eastern Michigan, a Mid-American Conference team without a win over the entire Big Ten.

Rutgers looks to get first Big Ten win against Northwestern

After capturing its first home win of the season, the Rutgers men’s soccer team hopes to get another first this weekend. The Scarlet Knights (3-9-1, 0-6-0) defeated NJIT (7-5-2, 2-1-0) on Wednesday night, winning their first match at Yurcak Field this season. Rutgers hasn’t won at home since October of 2015.

Rutgers welcomes Lafayette to Yurcak Field for non-conference matchup

With a break from conference play this week to prepare for Sunday’s key matchup with Penn State, the Rutgers men’s soccer team will play the first of its final three matches at home on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights (3-10-1, 0-7-0) will host Lafayette (2-11-0, 1-4-0) for a non-conference match at Yurcak Field. Both teams are coming off tough losses and hope to bounce back with wins this week.

No. 16 Rutgers defeats Drexel to start season 5-0

The Rutgers women’s soccer continued its early season dominance with a 2-0 win over Drexel Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field — its fifth shutout in as many games. The No. 16 Scarlet Knights (5-0) have now outscored their opponents 18-0 and have been steadily climbing the Division I rankings.
