Former Rutgers, NFL player is arrested

Kenny Britt, a former Rutgers football player who went on to play in the NFL, was arrested on Saturday in Bayonne, New Jersey, for possession of marijuana less than 50 grams, according to an article from NJ Advance Media.

Claudia Patterson, mother of Rutgers student Kenneth Patterson, filed a lawsuit stating the University and the Rutgers University Police Department failed to properly implement public safety measures.

Mother of Rutgers student sues school for wrongful death

The mother of Kenneth Patterson, a Rutgers student who became intoxicated at a fraternity party and died after being hit by an Amtrak train while walking home, is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the University, Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) and the fraternity, according to an article from USA Today. 

The internship program was sponsored by the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus Foundation and student interns were given the opportunity to work directly with state legislators and policy makers.

Rutgers students recognized by NJ legislature

The New Jersey Senate and the New Jersey General Assembly passed a joint resolution on Dec. 16 recognizing five students, four of whom are from Rutgers University—Newark, for their significant contributions during their summer internships, according to a press release.
