Head coach Eddie Jordan yells instructions at his team in a second straight blowout loss, this time a 34-point loss to Nebraska at the Rutgers Athletic Center. The 1975-6 Rutgers team that reached the Final Four with Jordan as the starting point guard was honored at the half. Jordan looks to use this season as a learning experience to build towards returning to the glory days. 

Freshman forward Jonathan Laurent looks forward to returning to Orlando and seeing his family for the first time since he came to Piscataway in August during his two day Christmas break. He and his teammates report back to practice Saturday to prepare for their final non-conference game against UMass-Lowell Monday and their first Big Ten conference game against Indiana at the Louis Brown Athletic Center Dec. 30.

Freshman guard Corey Sanders said he wouldn't be getting much any rest during the two day break his team was granted for Christmas in order to take advantage of his time at home. But the Lakeland, Florida, native also said he'll have half his mind on the responsibilities he left on the Banks. The Knights return to action Dec. 28 against UMass-Lowell to complete their non-conference schedule.

Laurent was forced to play at the unfamiliar four position after sophomore forward D.J. Foreman got into foul trouble, but the Orlando, Florida, native came through for his team, scoring 12 points and grabbing six boards.

Freshman guard Corey Sanders shoots a three in the second half of Rutgers 72-64 win over Fairleigh-Dickinson Wednesday. Sanders went 4-for-8 from beyond the arc on his way to a career-high 21 points. 

Greg Lewis muscles his way to the rim Wednesday night at the Louis Brown Athletic Center. Despite four personal fouls, the senior center registered a double-double on a season-high 10 points and career-high 14 rebounds to help Rutgers fend off Fairleigh Dickinson before heading into a brief Christmas break.
