Over the weekend, the Rutgers community received two different University-wide emails detailing four criminal incidents that are being investigated by local law enforcement.

The first incident occurred Thursday night on Douglass campus when a man approached the woman on a University bus, followed her off the bus and touched her inappropriately while walking on Lipman Drive.

The suspect was described as a white male, 6-foot-tall and in his mid-20s with brown hair and a thin beard. He was described as wearing dark pants, black sneakers, a green jacket and a yellow beanie cap during the incident, according to the email alert.

The Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) is investigating this incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact its detective bureau.

The other incidents occurred early Saturday morning when three homes were burglarized, according to the email alert.

The intruder entered two different homes on Morrell Street through unsecured windows between 1:15 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. and was stopped from stealing anything by the residents in both incidents.

The third break-in occurred approximately 20 minutes later on Ray Street. An individual entered the home through another unsecured window and stole several items before being stopped by residents and fleeing on foot from the area, according to an email alert.

All victims involved in the four incidents were affiliated with the University and were not physically injured during any of the incidents.

There was no description provided to the Rutgers community regarding the perpetrators of the home invasions. Anyone with information should contact the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau, according to the email alert.

The RUPD reminds everyone to stay alert to their surroundings and keep doors and windows secured.
