The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating a robbery that occurred early this morning at a home on High Street, according to a University-wide email alert.

The victim, who is affiliated with Rutgers, told police that the male suspect confronted him at approximately 3 a.m. as he tried to enter his home.

The suspect reportedly had a firearm and took items of value from the victim before fleeing on a bicycle toward Suydam Street. A description of the suspect was unavailable at the time of the alert.

This is the second University-wide alert for a crime occurring on or near High Street this week, and the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) asks everyone to remain alert and aware of their surroundings and contact the police if they observe any suspicious activity.

The NBPD asks anyone who may have information about the robbery or was nearby at the time to contact the NBPD Detective Bureau.
