The Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) is investigating an office burglary and a motor vehicle theft that happened on Livingston campus over the past week.

The first theft occurred at the Livingston Parking Deck sometime between Wednesday and Sunday morning. The victim, who is affiliated with the University, parked their car — a gray 2016 Jeep Cherokee — in the garage on Wednesday and did not notice the missing vehicle until Sunday.

The other incident occurred between Tuesday and Thursday at the Rutgers Athletic Performance Center on Livingston campus, which is attached to the parking deck. The victim, who is also affiliated with the University, reported valuables missing from their unsecured office located in the building.

The RUPD suggests that the University community lock building entrances, avoid leaving valuables unsecured and report suspicious activity to police.

The RUPD asks anyone who may have been nearby or has any information about the incident to contact the RUPD Detective Bureau.
