Rutgers eliminated from NCAA Tournament in first-round defeat

Ninety-five days ago, the Rutgers women's soccer team opened up its season at Yurcak Field against Central Connecticut State. On Friday night, the No. 4-seeded Scarlet Knights (15-4-2, 8-2-1) faced a rematch in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. With this game, one team would see its season end with the same matchup with which it began.





No. 16 Rutgers holds Indiana scoreless in Big Ten quarterfinals

One down. Two to go. The Rutgers women’s soccer team defeated Indiana in a 1-0 shutout on Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field. Scoring the game-winning goal was not the No. 16 Scarlet Knights (15-2-2, 8-2-1), but the Hoosiers’ (8-9-2, 4-5-2) Madeline Carlson on a big mistake that cost Indiana its spot in the tournament.












Rutgers's defense adjusting to Big Ten offensive schemes

From Sunday’s game against Wisconsin, it’s clear that the Rutgers women’s soccer team’s greatest strength and weakness is its defense. As one of the best defense systems in the nation, there were moments where the No. 13 Scarlet Knights (7-1-1, 1-1-0) absolutely shined, and at other times, they left huge gaps for the Badgers (6-2-1, 2-0-0) to sweep in.
