NBPD investigates robbery on George Street

The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating a robbery that took place Saturday at approximately 3:12 a.m. on George Street, according to a University-wide email.

The victim, who was near Morris Avenue at the time of the incident, is not affiliated with Rutgers, according to the email. His cell phone was reportedly taken by two perpetrators who fled on foot. 

The victim did not sustain any injuries and no weapons were used, according to the email. No description of the perpetrators is available at this time. 

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the NBPD Detective Bureau, according to the email. 

The Rutgers University Police Department reminded students to stay alert, avoid isolated or dark areas, walk in groups at night and contact law enforcement to report suspicious activity, according to the email.
