NBPD investigates criminal sexual contact near Wyckoff, Senior Streets

The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating a criminal sexual contact that occurred in the area of Wyckoff and Senior Streets at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, according to a University-wide email. 

The victim, who is affiliated with the University, reported that the perpetrator came up behind them, grabbed their buttock and proceeded to flee the area, according to the email. The victim was not physically injured.

The perpetrator's description is currently limited, according to the email.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or who may have been in the area at the time should contact the NBPD.

The Rutgers University Police Department reminded students to practice safety measures including walking in groups, staying alert to surroundings, avoiding isolated or dark areas and reporting suspicious activity to police.
