The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon on College Avenue, according to a University-wide email alert.

During the incident, a male riding a bicycle approached the victim, who is affiliated with Rutgers, and forcibly removed a valuable item from them.

The suspect then fled on their bike down Mine Street toward Easton Avenue. The victim was not injured and declined medical attention, according to the email alert.

The suspect was on a black mountain bike and is described as a skinny white male in his mid to late 30s with short, dark-colored hair. During the incident, he wore a gray flannel jacket, gray undershirt, dark jeans and black shoes.

This is the fourth robbery committed by a bicyclist in New Brunswick over the past eight days. Yesterday's alert did not confirm if the most recent incident is connected to last week's thefts.

The NBPD asks anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact the NBPD's Detective Bureau.
